Vini Sliven's Wines Get Best Grades at Bulgaria's Wine Exhibition
Category: General newsDelicious Merlot Tuida 2004, product of Vini Sliven AD was rated highest at the second session of the nation-wide wine sampling fair in Plovdiv (Bulgaria's second largest city) and received a silver medal.
"The silver medal is the highest award given at this year's Vinaria (International Exhibition of Vine-Growing and Wine-Producing)," said Lily Stoilova, secretary of the Bulgarian National Wine and Vine Chamber at the fair awarding ceremony on Friday. -

But somehow the idea took root and after months of research, Melissa came over in March this year. Impressed with what she saw, Melissa decided to take the big step of relocating herself and her business here from Spain. One of the first things she did was to hire a lawyer. When it emerged that it was her lawyer’s husband who had been involved in making the English television programme which had originally sparked the whole venture, she felt that the move was “meant to be.”

Disco Rock in Bansko

This year marks the fourth consecutive year of the festival, organised by the Bulgarian-German Tanne Hotel in Bansko, and it will be held in the Bansko stadium, which has a capacity for 10 000 fans.

Bronze Statuette of Orpheus Discovered in Bulgaria

A unique Roman bronze statuette of Orpheus was discovered during archaeological excavations near the village of Tatul, Momchilgrad region. The figurine dates back to the end of 1-2 century AD.
"We are talking about a wonderful figurine of a man with a specific hairdo and excellent proportions of the body. His left hand rests on a lyre and he holds a plectrum in his right hand," explained for Standart daily Prof. Nikolay Ovchariv from the Museum of Archaeology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) who heads the team of experts working near Tatul. -
