Designs For Nearly BGN 23 Million Are Envisaged For 2007 in Stara Zagora

More than BGN 503 thousand have been invested in the new construction of street network in the villages on the territory of Stara Zagora Municipality. BGN 1.097 million has been invested in the construction of the Historical Museum during the year 2006. More than BGN 2.565 million has been invested in the renovation of the opera building in the regional town. The continuing reconstruction of the opera is one of the important sites for Stara Zagora Municipality. The first performance in the renovated opera is expected to take place in October. A cultural center named “Trite Stseni” is formed with the renovation of the burned opera. There are the stages of the opera, the stages of the old theatre and the open stage of the Forum.

  In this year’s list of infrastructure sites, BGN 300 thousand have been envisaged for repair works of the summer theatre, and BGN 240 thousand – for reconstruction of the Planetarium. Thorough repairs of the old building of the local bus station is envisaged as well. BGN 450 thousand is necessary for that renovation. Other BGN 150 thousand is envisaged for the purchase of GPS system for the buses of the public town transport.

  BGN 500 thousand are envisaged for the designing of detailed organizational plans during the year 2007. BGN 200 thousand are envisaged for the swimming pool and BGN 200 thousand for the inflatable tennis halls are envisaged in the sites’ list of names. Other BGN 1.3 million shall be invested in new lighting and a racing track of the local stadium “Beros”. During the year 2006, the illuminants in 45 towns and villages on the territory of Stara Zagora Municipality have been changed, as well as great part of the illuminants of the quarters “Zora”, Koliu Ganchevo, Zheleznik and “Kazanski”. BGN 900 thousand are envisaged for the reconstruction of the street lighting in 2007.

  Important infrastructure sites are the repairs of schools and nursery schools, the municipal road network and the street gaps, for the easing of the traffic in the regional town. BGN 1.2 million is envisaged for the extension of “Gen. Stoletov” street to the west. The widening of “Anastasiya Tosheva” street costs BGN 2 million. The street connects “Industrialna” street with the central part of the town and with the road intercept to the West connection with “Trakia” highway. The widening of “Capitan Petko Voivoda” street is to the South (connection with “Slavyanska” street), and to the North (for direct connection of the quarters “Zheleznik” and “Tri Chuchura – Sever” with “Tsar Simeon Veliki” boulevard). “Capitan Petko Voivoda” is expected to become one of the main thoroughfares of the town, and an alternative of “Patriarh Evtimii” street, from its West side. The street is part of the new transport-communication plan of the town, one of the South arcs of Stara Zagora. The new intercept is 1068 meters long. Two roadways will be constructed, each with width of 7,5 meters, two sidewalks with width of 3 meters, and one 3-meter dividing line. The overall measurements of the street are 24 meters. Underground infrastructure is also being constructed – water supply and sewerage, power supply. Executor of the building works is PSK-SBS JSC - Stara Zagora.

  The new street’s financing amounts to a total BGN 2,5 million, and BGN 700 thousand has been envisaged for the year 2007. The deadline for the completion of the construction is the 5th day of October. The East part of the road equipment has been repaired till the end of the year 2006. In the year 2005, “Capitan Petko Voivoda” street was repaired to “Kaloyanovsko Shosse”, as a connection with “Industrialen” quarter. One more roadway is expected to be constructed in that part of the street during 2007.

  Stara Zagora Municipality finances a sociological survey, for the specifying of the most important activities and infrastructure sites. According to the survey’s results, the people wish the priority financing of street coverings and sidewalks, rehabilitation of the street lighting in the town and the villages, completing the opera’s renovation, construction of new streets for the easing of the town traffic, sewerage of “Kolyo Ganchev” quarter, construction of the building and the exposition of the Historical Museum, construction of parking lots, etc. The sociological survey of “Sova Haris” has interviewed 700 adults.

  The framework of the budget of Stara Zagora Municipality for the year 2007 is BGN 68.104 million, formed by the municipal income and state activities subsidy. The plan for state activities income is for BGN 30.250 million, and for municipal income – BGN 37.853 million. The Town Council is expected to examine the draft budget during a meeting in the beginning of March. A public discussion is to take place on the 14th day of February.
