Рубрика: Property news Източник: DnevnikMetro Cash&Carry, the German chain of self-service wholesale depots, said its new outlet in Veliko Tarnovo, a city in Northern Bulgaria, will open for business in March 2008.
The hypermarket will cost 32 mln levs with over 70% of the resource to be spent on area subcontractors, said Willi Beisheim, director general of Metro Cash&Carry Bulgaria EOOD.
The company broke ground for the new store in July this year but construction has been slowed down by the difficult site terrain. The removal of 30,000 cu m of rubble from the 5.3 ha site has added 2 mln levs to the project tab.
The hypermarket will create around 200 new jobs and will hire regional stockists.
The Veliko Tarnovo launch will bring to nine the Metro hypermarket in Bulgaria. The current locations are in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Stara Zagora, Ruse and Blagoevgrad.
The company employs upwards of 2,300 staff in Bulgaria.(Dnevnik)
