Sveti Vlas resort Can Accommodate 15,000 Guests

For most of them tourism is the main livelihood, that is why the investments in hotels, villas, restaurants and bars here ran at 10 million euro in recent years. Nowadays the accommodation capacity of the resort is 15,000, yet it doesn't look so overpopulated as the other Bulgarian resorts in high season.
Most of the locals are descendants of refugees from Aegean Macedonia and East Thrace who settled here in remote 1924. Maybe this is the reason why fishing is a rare trade in Svety Vlas now. One can count about 50 boats anchored in the local marina, but these are mostly used for sea trips.
For many years the villagers were famous as vine-growers and sheep-breeders. Now posh hotels replace old sheep farms. Vine plantations and pastures have long disappeared.
The incredible combination of the sea and mountains makes the climate in Sveti Vlas unique, it is especially recommended to people with lungs problems. The sand beach strip stretches for 1,5 km, its average breadth is 15 m. Holiday-makers from the nearby resorts frequently prefer Sveti Vlas to the crowded beaches of Nessbar or Slantchev Bryag.
