  Approximately 5000 tourists more have visited Belogradchik in the first half of 2007 compared to the same period in 2006.

  This is a nearly double increase of the tourist flow compared to last year.

  Intense construction works are in full swing by the southern slope of Snezhanka peak, and their pace is bound to reach the pace attained to the north and east, where Pamporovo is located. At present nine hotels and apartment complexes are being built amidst the picturesque Smolyan lakes, which the Ecology Ministry declared to be natural landmarks of national importance.

  The speed-up of the construction work is yet to come, since the largest number of sites are actually planned to be located just below Snezhanka peak, where is the starting lift-station leading to the peak. It has a capacity of 620 people per hour, and from there one has access to the resort’s entire 28 km ski-track network.

  The total beds number, including chalets, rest stations and small hotels is 460. Tens of other properties are currently waiting for the appropriate moment for the obtainment of a construction permit and construction start. Hristo Stoichhkov and the businessman Valentin Zlatev are among the investors.

  The football start owns a property next to the chapel “St.Spirit”, some meters away from the lift leading to the Snezhanka peak, where the cataion resort is to be located. He bought 16 decares two years ago. Zlatev intends to build a complex of ultra-modern houses. In order to be sure they would be unique, a international design competition is expected to be announced.

  Most Bulgarian and foreign tourists accept the Bulgarian seaside as golden sand, nice beaches, sea resorts, big or small hotels, hot summer, parties, taverns and night clubs. This is an excellent way to spend your summer holiday in Bulgaria, but there is also a different seaside, with rocky, unapproachable and almost sinister shores, which are extremely beautiful, romantic, and tempting. The story is about the coastline north of cape Kaliakra. 

  The summer resort Kiten is situated on a small peninsula, about 50 km south of Burgas.   During summer they sail all over the Black Sea in search of adventures and new sensations. The Black sea travels bring many yacht lovers to the Bulgarian Coastline, which offers excellent opportunities for yachting tourism.

  When we talk about holydays at the Bulgarian Black Seaside, Lozenets is one of the top resorts, most recently mentioned nowadays. It is a small, pretty village situated on the sea shore, 60 km south of Bourgas. Lozenets is a perspective site and it is on its way to become a summer oasis, ready to entertain everybody, who is greedy for summer emotions.

  The commercial resorts in Bulgaria became really overcrowded and many of the summer tourists started searching for quiet places. Thus Lozenets turned into cosy sea resort. The citizens of the capital city Sofia were the first to come to the resort. Many artists like the famous Bulgarian jazz singer Beloslava bought villas there, in order to be inspired by the calmness and the romance of Lozenets.

  The project On the Roads of Early Christianity has been developed in joint cooperation by Razlog Municipality and the Trade Chamber of the Greek town Drama. The project is for 277,580 Euro – 10% is co-financed by Razlog Municipality, and the remaining amount is provided under the PHARE programme – Cross-border Cooperation Bulgaria-Greece.
 
  The partnership between the organisations on both sides of the border will make the region more attractive for the tourists and will facilitate its sustainable development on the basis of the rich cultural and historic heritage.

  Three archaeological monuments will be researched within the project – the Painted Church, the White Church and “St Nikola” church. 

  "Evropa Tower" - this will be the name of the 40-storey and over 180 meters high building which will be built on the site of the former factory "Balkancar-Sredets". This became clear after the international competition for an architectural design which finished at the end of last month. The Jury, consisting of representatives of the investors, of Sofia Municipality and of the Unions of the Architects in Bulgaria and Germany awarded first place to the design of HPP Hentrich-Petschnigg and Partner KG Architectural Studio from Dusseldorf, Germany. Six architectural studios from Bulgaria, Austria, Germany and Great Britain took part in the final stage of the competition.

  Subject of the competition was architectural design and the integration of the high building "Evropa Tower" as part of the future city complex in Tsar Boris Treti Street. The aim - to develop the highest building in Sofia and Bulgaria into the most prestigious business location - requires high standards of architecture and design", announced Alexander Otto, Chairman of the Management Board of ECE, investor of the project.

  The construction of a new residential building, with a design focused on the higher class of the luxury properties, is planned to start by the end of September.

  The MERCURE investment project belongs to Bulgaria Investment Group LTD and is realised through its daughter company Lozenets Investment Group. The building was designed by Kazakov Architectural Group EOOD with Group Manager Tihomir Kazakov. The total built-up area without the basement is about 5888 square meters. It is situated on a plot of 1825 square meters on Cherni Vrah boulevard in Krastova Vada area. MERCURE is a luxury residential building which will offer a set of services and equipment, the investors announced. 

   An ancient tourist route of the Greeks and Bulgarians will be reopened again between Chepelare and Avdira. This will soon become possible thanks to the project “The Ancient Road in the Rhodopes – a Road taking Chepelare and Avdira to their future”, which amounts to 174 789 Euro. It is financed by the program PHARE – Trans-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Greece "Stimulation of the cultural, tourist and human resources in the trans-border region".

  The contractor of the project is the Municipality of Chepelare in cooperation with its Greek counterparts from Avdira, as well as the Rhodopes Municipalities Association, the Regional Tourist Association “Rhodopes” and the Bulgarian Alliance for Protection of the Rhodopes.

  The purpose of the project is not only the restoration of the ancient Roman road in the region, but also the restoration of that particular part of the Rhodopes mountain as an attractive destination for alternative tourism – cultural, ecological, country tourism, etc. The project will introduce the best European practices and will strengthen the cooperation between the two municipalities from the two sides of the border.
