Working Foreigners
Category: General newsThe Government approved a package of amendments to the effective legislation, regulating the residence and employment of foreigners in Bulgaria. The amendments supplement the scope of application and the conditions for admission of foreigners on business assignments. The term “foreigner” is replaced by “workers or employees”, who are further differentiated into “workers and employees from European Union member states” and “workers and employees from third states”.

Visa regime
Category: General newsThe Bulgarian government decided to lift the visa regime for the citizens of the U.S., Great Britain and 11 other countries, Romanian news agency Mediafax reports.
A common European rule is being introduced for issuing visas with right of residence of up to 90 days within a period six months. -
Austria's EVN eyes status of multi-service utility in Bulgaria
Category: General newsAustria's EVN, the majority owner of the regional electricity distribution companies in Bulgarian cities Plovdiv and Stara Zagora, is interested in investing in waste recycling, gas distribution, water services and the purchase and construction of power stations in Bulgaria, said Stefan Szyszkowitz, chairman of the EVN Bulgaria managing board.
EVN considers as viable investment options the construction of waste recycling plants in Plovdiv and Stara Zagora.

New highway construction contract to e signed in Bulgaria
Category: General newsThe contract for the construction of the new Liulin highway would be signed in the Road Executive Agency on August 8, Darik Radio reported. The project will cost 148 million euro. The European Commission grants 75 per cent of the sum. The other 25 will come from Bulgaria.
